Live Suite 8.2.5 never loads on my laptop (Win7 64bit)

A process runs but I never get the splash screen or anything else.

Anyone else having this issue?

Very frustrating...

Try starting live as administrator by right clicking the start shortcut and clicking run as administartor.

If that doesn't work

Go in control panel click folder options
Click View.

Enable show hidden files, folders, drives.

delete the prefrences file in C:\Users\joeblogs\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.2.5

Live will put this back when you restart it. Sometimes it's something you changed in the prefrences that stops it loading.

If you do a reinstall look all over the place for all the ableton files and delete them before you reinstall because after an uninstall Ableton likes to leave behind lots of files that screw up another install.

Still not loading, what the heck is the "install helper" anyway, jeez, I already ran the install, so I am wondering why the helper is needed anyway.

Fixed this issue. Even a right click run as admin failed, I actually had to turn off UAC altogether...

Well, today my problem returns... Live will not load. I reinstalled it, but now same thing, even with UAC turned off. A live process starts, little box in the left hand corner (I assume this is the "install helper" attempting to load and failing) pops up and goes away, then I am left with nothing...

I end the process and try again, nothing.

I reboot, nothing.

this sucks.

When launching live, a "dllhost" loads which I assume is the "installhelper.exe" which resides in the program folder. The dllhost quickly goes away and I am left with the Live 8.2.5 process but no splash screen.

Having same/similar issue. I ran setup. It said it installed correctly. Then when I open Live it asks for permission to run install helper. I accept but it then opens program as same old Live 8.2.2. There is no evidence of 8.2.5 running.

From the sound of it, this seems similar to what is happening with yours. Have you made any progress?

Or, does anyone else have any idea on how to proceed?

Well, here we go again... all firewalls off, just ran windows updates, now live will no longer launch.

I disabled UAC, turned off all antivirus and firewalls, live won't launch.

I am trying to update to 8.26 at the moment, but that keeps failing (don't think the issue is on my side, I have been running ping tests, DNS tests, etc)

This is very very frustrating not being able to even launch live.

Just a process, no splash screen, no error.

Please, someone hopefully will help me?
