Should have done more research but bought Mashine anyway

Please tell me you can do some type of side chaining through Live or even Maschine. I've read on this forum and NI's it's not possible.

Also, how do you deal with the latency when working with Live and Maschine, or is this even an issue.

I thought I poured over Mashine searchs, workflows, fanboy posts, YouTube, etc before ordering the Maschine, but forgot to ask these simple questions.

Please tell me I didn't just order a really expensive controller

bounce tracks to audio and then sidechain in Live? or do you need to do it all in Maschine?

I since learned a little bit about the way maschine works along side Ableton. Does sync up up like any other plug-in the only difference is it's routed through audio channel?

Given that it's routed through an audio channel I can send a synth pattern from maschine into an audio track, compress and sidechain with Ableton.

I'm going through lots of YouTubes cause I have to wait a week for the maschine, which I'm excited about.

Interesting stuff. I also picked up an APC20 last week, which I'm kind of regretting now that the maschine is on its way - but we'll see.

No regrets for having them both - they both have completely separate uses. Machine for machine, APC for live - the combo works well together.

IO have different reasons for no being entirely impresed with the APC40, but thats go nothing to do with having maschine as well and feeling there is any kind of duplication between them - my issues with the APC are entirely down to some rather thoughtless aspects of its design given how much they cost, but then it there isnt really an alternative either.

The lfo plugin is nice. Im assuming you mean to use this inside of maschine?

Yep...I just throw it across whatever I want to side chain. You can put it on an individual sound, across a group or on the master.

It's one of my favorite tools to use in Maschine.

Here is a vid I made a few months ago on some routing options with Maschine in Live. It will give you some ideas.

Got Maschine today a few hours ago. I'm feeling it with Live. I'm using Live as a mixing board to sidechain and apply additional FX.

Can someone answer me this - how do you record automation across multiple tracks while several scenes are looping.

For example, I have patterns 1, 2, 3 in scenes 1, 2, 3 respectively. I want to do one continuous filter sweep of a sample over the 3 patterns and scenes. How do you do this, I'm only able to record automation on one pattern at a time.

I'm also posting this on NI's site.

These are good times though, I could really get into this.
