I had a pretty stable set up going, don't remember the last crash for months. Since updating to 8.2.5, I'm getting crashes all the time. Anyone else noticing more instability? I'll be going to Lion as soon as novation automap have updated it for that, so maybe I'll have better luck then...

What were you upgrading from? I've had significantly fewer crashes with 8.2.5b1 than with previous versions. I upgraded to 8.2.5 yesterday and so far, so good

I've actually had a fair number more crashes since the most recent update as well, not planning on upgrading to lion soon though, so hopefully they'll make it stable for snow leopard, because by now much of this stuff really should be getting resolved.

Any plug-ins you are using? I find that is it usually VST/AU issues that cause crashes.

You should remember it before using a computer.

I crash all the time with Live, but the reason is the memory, not LIVE. My live set is close to using 3 gigs of RAM. You might want to check this out and do some file management...

Can't wait for a 64 bit version...

Great advice. Only do updates / upgrades when needed. A lot of big studios are many versions behind the latest as they can't afford downtime when not necessary.

I recorded at a renown studio and it was still running protools 7. Lots of pro studios won't switch until a year after the upgrade to make sure it works.

Yeah...It is probably a ram issue. Anyone know if Ableton 9 will be 64 bit?

I went back to 8.2.2

It seems more stable for me.
I was having an issue where Live 8.2.5 seemed to be crashing windows 7.

After I finish some current projects and have no shows coming up, I will go try again 8.2.5 and test further.

yes, and therefor treat your laptop like its your studio!

I had an issue with Ableton when jumping from one part of a set, while playing, to another it caused my whole computer to just freeze. 8.2.5 haant corrected it either. I sent in the log ages ago but I guess it hasnt been looked at yet.

I got a new 2011 MBP with Snow Leopard, installed Live 8.2.2 on it. On the new computer Live has been crashing like crazy when trying different routing stuff, i.e. sidchaining, midi routing, audio routing, selecting soundcard out's on my master track.

I thought, it might my some of my M4L devices, then I thought it was my Audio 8, and then I thought it was the laptops USB port, and i started to think it was my NI plugs.

Updated to 8.2.5 and Lion. Still experienced all the same crashes.

Updated my NI plugs yesterday, but not the Audio 8 driver.

No crashes on routing stuff........yet

if stable..
back up ..then upgrade..
the extra time it takes is worth the extra heart-ache from crashes

Please make sure that you're reporting any crashes that you experience - it's the best way for us to find out what happened and, if it is a problem with Live, fix it.

Thinking of updating from Live 8.21 to Live 8.25. I am using Windows 7 64bit OS. I also have Max4Live but do not use it much yet. Any info/observations regarding stability of Live 8.25 on Windows would be appreciated. Should I stay on Live 8.21 a while longer? Thanks, Brontoy
