didnt find it in search.

is there a way to do tempo changes in Live?

lets say im recording a DJ mix and i want to change the BPM from 115 tp 94 bacl to 115 to 78. (think like mixing at a club when you want to switch up the pace!)

how can i do this?

If you rename one of the 'scenes' down the right hand side with '94bpm' when you play that scene the bpm changes.. then when you want to go back to 115.. make another scene and rename the trigger on the RHS '115bpm'..

Easy!

What version of Live are you using?
I really don't want to be rude...if you haven't learnt about tempo or what a scene is yet ...(doing my best here)...http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16975

guys...i didn't join a damn forum to be told by people to read the manual.

did it ever occur to you that sometimes people just need someting explained sometimes.

im using live 4 and im quite good at it, im just a n00b though. so i might not know all the terms.

i thought forums were put in place to get questions answered. if i knew the answer for something you didn't know i would have been helpful instead of a troll.

thank you.

by scenes, do you mean the row to the far right? in the tracks view window?

The column to the far right where the scene trigger triangle is. Change the name of the scene (cmd-E) from 1 to 120bpm, for example, when you trigger that scene (that whole row), the global tempo will change to 120.

Hope that helps!

for changing the tempo there's a couple of options:

1) drag the tempo display up or down

2) tap in the desired tempo

3) automate the tempo changes (manaul page 208)

this kind of basic stuff is explained in the simplest manner in the manual. not much for us to explain about it.

Yep, that's what a scene is...please try to understand I was/am sincerely trying to help by suggesting you look at the manual, not being a smart-arse. You have it. In front of you either hard copy or pdf, in the Live>docs folder. The pdf is searchable, search for 'scene', the first reference contains the line, "the horizontal rows are called scenes" and "Each scene can also store a tempo setting as part of it's name". A search for 'tempo' gives, "To edit the song tempo envelope, unfold the Master track, choose “Mixer” from the top envelope
chooser and “Song Tempo” from the bottom one." Voila--tempo changes smooth/sharp as you like...pictures too.
It took 2 days to get that info. here, all I'm saying is, for your own benefit, don't ignore the valuable resource you have in front of you and save yourself a STACK of time and frustration to boot.
