Problems with Live 8 on my MacBook Pro

I recently bought a MacBook Pro 13", along with a novation launchpad and hercules RMX, mostly to use it in live performances in conjunction with Live 8. I have been experiencing some problems since the start however. The biggest one being that when I'm working with Live the sound stops every now and then(every 5-10 minutes or so, sometimes even more often), and then after a few moments(sometimes less than a second, sometimes longer) the audio continues where it left off. This is greatly frustrating, and makes using it for live perfomances impossible. Is anyone experiencing a similiar problem, or could help me resolve this issue?
I'm running Live 8.2.5 launchpad edition on a MacBook Pro 13" with a 2,3GHz intel i5 processor, 4gb ram and a 500gb harddisk. I'm also using the Hercules DJ Console RMX and the Novation Launchpad. I use my DJ Console RMX as external soundcard, however the problem persists when I use the MacBook's build-in soundcard.
I've searched everywhere but have been unable to find a solution.
