recording wipes my clips out!

Hi! I experience the following problem regularly:
In the arrangement view, I record audio on one track.
During the recording, as the player moves across the timeline, it wipes out clips that are situated on other tracks. They disapear. I must undo the recording to get my wiped out clips back. I get angry.
Im on a powerbook 667, OS 10.3.7, Live 4.1.
Anyone had the same problem, anyone has a solution???

yes, the same thing happened to me several times as i had only 1 track armed, and anyway, OVR was on.
if i remember well, when this happens, the whole arrangement gets pink, not only the armed track. so this could be a trick to avoid it: just make sure only the armed track is pink when you record (until the abes fix this, of course!).

Salut ppeeddrroo,
actually, only the armed track on which I want to record gets pink...
Still, others clips get wiped out...
Strange...
Are Ableton guys aware of this???

This is a problem indeed.
I never record into arrangement unless i am sure it's OK to wipe all tracks. I have never get a one track only rec in arrangement to work or have not dared to try...

I am recording all the time and never had this problem, could it be the new version ? Since I am not interested in Operator and missed the icons, I am back to the previous version.

Well, I tried out some simple recording just now and then it seemed my worries had no ground.
First of all I have misunderstood the overdub button - I thought it was for audio too in some obscure way but the info in the help view tells me it's only for midi.
My problem, I thought, was that when recording a clip from launching in session not only the corresponding arrangement track would be affected but all of them, thus wiping out the regions of recorded clips in other tracks as well.
I could not prove that to happen.
Is this coming as a glitch at certain times, then?
(I'm mostly using 4.0.4 BTW)

To me, the record button top of screen is all about recording ideas into the arrangement view from session view.
when in arrangement view, you just gotta make sure that overdub button is off, and that you have armed the track properly... AND... that you leave that track highlighted...
