Using videos with Ableton Live

Hey guys,
What i want to do is trigger video clips from ableton live as my band plays the backing tracks.
Firstly is it possible for it to work this way ?
And if so, what is required ?
We have a backing track for each song + a video for each song, so ideally would be perfect if when play is pressed on the backing track, the video is triggered to start as well
Thanks,

Lives not so hot with live video launching on its own.
You however can use both Live plus something like Arkaos to fire both video and audio in unison.
From what I gather you can have midi clips in Live send info to Arkaos.

Think there are some free progs as alternatives to Arkaos.

as guff said, it's not ideal, but if it's all you have it's worth a try at least.
Live can only play video from the arranger, and if you want to trigger the clips then you will need to set up a locator where each clip is positioned - then you can either map each locator to a MIDI note or KEY, or step through them with the arrows either side of [set] at the top of the track in arrange view

ok thanks guys,
i think we are going to go a different route,
running a seperate macbook, with cell vj software
our visuals dont have to be exactly synced to the backing so we should be able to get away with this

I'm working on an application that natively plays videos in Ableton. You might want to check it out its still in beta but we could work something out for you.
