Yamaha DTXplorer kit

Hi all,
I've spent a small fortune recently on my home studio and the one thing right now bugging me is the sound from my Yamaha kit. So I thought that I could hook this up to my Mac using Midi to USB and use the kit to trigger samples on ableton. The thing is though, I'm looking for more control over the kit, so I was hoping to find a way to have each drum pad on a seperate track. So..
How do I hook my kit up and do the above? Steps from start to finish as I'm completely new to Ableton.. and well... DAW's too. I used to use a Zoom MRS1608 which isn't great.
Any tips would be brilliant
