I recently upgraded from 8.2.2 to 8.2.6 and since doing so I seem to be having more crashes than ever... definitley every day/session - one night I had 5 crashes... it seemed to be when playing notes on a VST and changing parameter during playing the notes that it didnt like it and would crash... but now I even sometimes get crashes just when I close Live.
has anybody else had issues on Windows 7 since upgrading?
thanks

i NEVER get replies on here... or at least it seems that way...
I have reverted back to 8.2.2 version and it has been much better, no crashes yet and i was on it for 5 hours last night - so its not the config files and defo something in the application

Bit more detail would be handy...ie what VST is causing the issue, any logs or error messages generated?

here's one...
I never put arrange view in repeat loop mode cuz sooner or later live always crashes. always!
nothing to do with any particular vst. I could be editing anything at all and it will crash

Can you test something for me please?
I created an loop, then broke it into 8 parts, added follow actions. Once I was complete with this I selected all and attempted to copy them into the library via the browser on the left hand side. When I dropped the files in the folder in the library, live had unexpected error and told me it would close after pressing ok.
WIN7 x64 Ableton v8.2.6

I don't need to test this
I stop dragging stuff into the browser as way of saving cuz it's one more thing that makes live crash
I just use "save as" now

I've never really had any issues with crashing. Then again, once i got my laptop configures right and worked out all the kinks with 8.2.2. I decided never to update again. An old version of Ableton is better then an updated version that crashes.
sowhoso is right. There doesn't seam to be many responses on this board.

I've been having some major issues. It crashes only when i load certain Live Sets, I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8. If anyone has any pointers i'd love to know. Is there any way to download an older version? (8.2.2?)
Cheers!

I had the same problem with Ableton crashing like crazy on my MAC INTEL OS 10.6.8. Then I realized I was using both VST and Audio Units formats for plug-ins. To make a long story short, after going back and forth with Ableton tech support over email (which was very helpful), I found out that VST is a terrible format for Ableton. I would highly recommend avoiding any VST versions of plug ins (especially Melodyne) and using only AU!!!!! As soon as I did this I had zero problems. However, I believe that WAVES plug ins only work in VST format, which doesn't have any problems. So... with the exception of WAVES, I would use everything else possible in AU!!
Hope this helps,
Marko G

It's almost a given whenever I load up a Waves plugin, but recently I've had crashes by loading up Guitar Rig or just by trimming an audio region!!
Anyone else have problems with those plugs?

Most crashes in Live tend to come from third-party plugins. Whenever I've made something with Live's plugins only its solid as a rock. But most of use other plugins. I also use Cubase and I have FAR MORE crashes due to plugins in Live than I do in Cubase.
