How to automate Nexus 2's arpeggiators octave?

Basically I have a Piano loop that has been arpegiated in Nexus but in one part of the song I want to change the octave from 1 to 3. Ableton does not let me automate it, but is there a way for ableton to change it automatically (automate)? I tried recording in the 3rd octave but it also changes the octave in other parts aswell. When I change the octave back to 1 it is the same in the recorded part. I found a way to record it to an audio file and add it to the song but there are some issues with it. If someone could be helpful enough to guide me a little bit, I'd be grateful. I can give more details if needed.
