Ableton Forum

I just bought live intro a couple of weeks ago and have really struggled to to get it to work. Is there anyone out here that can help me? I can't here any sounds coming out of my wife's wonderful laptop and have tried tried really hard. My cell is: (301)648-5235. I am home around 6:30 eastern time Monday through Friday. I could use a patient and good hearted person help me learn to rock with Live Intro. I play shows and want to continue to play for mental health centers to bring my love of music to people who really need it. I can bring alot of joy to these people if I could get a good teacher. I would even pay the person who decided to help me. Could someone please help me?

First of all. Maryland is in the U.S. You should know where that is if you know your geography. Secondly, I didn't give my home number. I just gave my cell. And finally. You both had to start somewhere(that means that your parents gave you lessons on how to walk). Well. I am just starting in the recording world and need some help "learning how to walk" in the recording of my music. So i ask again, if someone has the time and the heart strings, I could use some help on getting aquanted with Ableton Live Intro. But the too who replied to my first request need not reply since I am only asking for help at this point in time in learning how to use the software mentioned above and not a critique of my request for the help.

Nice attitude you got there mate! good luck finding someone with that, neither me or the guy above has slagged you off and none of it has anything at all to do with you starting walking in music production, so dont twist my words saying im a critic, your definition of critic is far off the mark mate, neither me or guy above has slagged you off for asking for help, my point was a valid one.

I couldnt help you as i dont live in states, i was trying to be helpful and suggest not to put your cell on forum as there is loaaaaaaaaaads of spambots kicking bout on here, and you would get plagued with nusiance calls and sales, but nevermind i tried

my comment is because i am originally from maryland myself, i recognized the 301 area code.
i like to mess around with people who are from my home state, you know talk about ledos pizza and crabs, since i havent been home in a while.
mbird was just trying to protect you because there are people on this forum that are not so nice and could use your information in a bad way.....so go easy man we mean you no harm

as far as your sound problems....it could be any number of things....what i suggest is when you open live intro.....click on HELP there at the top of your screen....that should bring down a menu....click on "HELP VIEW"...that should bring up a menu on the right side of your live screen....there you should have all sorts of interactive lessons, tours, how to set live up....etc.
also when you first click on "help" there should be a link to "read the manual" you should probably do that before anything else....because what happens around here is if your question is something super easy, like something they tell you on the first page of the manual...people either won't answer....or tell you to go read the manual first, then if you still have issues we can go from there....just some friendly advice

Mbird. You still are spouting off at the mouth instead of asking me how I need help. My attitude is very good thank you. I have many friends who would attest to that "mate". but how about this. i pose a challenge to you. Can you teach as well as you talk. You are obviously not the right teacher for me. But my challenge to you is to go out there and help someone who is struggling to record with ableton. Because i'll tell you again what I told you before (which you are wrong if you don't get the analogy: "everybody could use a lesson" -A.G. have a nice life

You might find while in your 2 seconds of been on this forum, that ive tried to help alot of people on here especially new people like i was too before, to get going or things that confuse them. 'Spouting my mouth off' comment is just crappy when all i wanted to do was be helpful about putting your mobile number on a forum, and mate is used because its freindly term said in the UK but again that is aslo highlighted as been something wrong. Anyway this is last post im doing on it and im sorry if i give impression to you and others on forum that i talk too much, ive actually just tried to help people but nevermind, good luck anyway.

You may be right about putting my cell number on the forum. Sometimes emails aren't interpreted well via emailing and maybe our emails to each other were misinterpreted. I will admit that I thought that you were being harsh when you were just trying to protect me. I appreciate your efforts and truly apologize if I offended you. I have just entered the forum, but I hope that I have not lost a potential friend in you.

No worries and ofc not lost potential freind mate, im sure you been on forums before and its hard to tell difference between someone potentially taking a swipe at you in a sarcastic way and someone actually helping, these places have a habit of making newcomers defensive straight away i know cause im same tbh , no no mate just misinterpretation is all, no hard feelings here mate

Thank you for your reply. To answer your questions, I am using a toshiba satellite A205 2 core duo intel centrino laptop with a 1.66 Ghz/1.67 Ghz processor with a 32 bit Window's Vista OS. Our wav and mp3 files sound and work fine. As for our hardware set up, I didn't think that we had to set up any hardware to hear sounds. I was going to eventually attach a Korg Microsampler MS1 (which will be my audio interface)but I thought that I should get familiar with ableton live intro before attaching it. Do I need to attach the sampler now to hear sounds out of ableton? Or is there another piece of hardware or software that I need to download, upload, import, export, or attach to my computer, sampler, or anything else to hear sounds out of ableton? I appreciate any advice you can give me on this.

If you are out there, I could sure use your help with some technical difficulties I am having in trying to get my daw (ableton live intro) to recognize my east west quantum leap goliath vst. Can you help me?
