MBP 17” SSD primary - 5400 vs 7200 for secondary

Okay, so I bought MBP 17” (2.3GHz – 8GB) and getting used to the change from windows 7 over the past month.
Managed to afford an ssd for the os, but I am now looking to swap out the optical drive for storage with a hdd
Looking at owc data doubler kit http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-dri ... -Notebook/
I’m really looking for points of view regarding pro’s and con’s between a 5400rpm or a 7200rpm as the secondary drive storing program projects, libraries, samples and personal data.
Of course the operating temp. of the 7200 drive will be more (this being a con), but will the read/write capabilities really be noticeable?
Has anyone else done this already?
