when you pick up a vintage synth or other and there's this dusty crud on the keys what do you guys use to clean them?

Good question. A buddy has an old Rhodes so I'd like to know.

Good shout on the compressed air can. Forgot about that, works really well. Thanks.

My girlfriend has one of those dusting thingy's. I'll give that a go... on keyboards of course.

A tip for cleaning the rubber pads of the likes on a MPC/MPD ...
I wrap paper masking tape around my finger with sticky-side out and gently press it on the pad then release.
It gets rid of annoying dust or reminents of a duster cloth when you're giving it a quick dust.
