I want to collaborate with a friend who's got Max for Live, Operator and Analog. I'm using Live 8 with no add-ons, simply because I've never had a need for those instruments. When I open her .als, of course it gives me a million warnings about the stuff I don't have. That's no big deal, but what sucks is that I can't save or export. Even if I delete the tracks that use Operator, et. al. I can't save it.
So...that's weak. I've been using a legit version of Live for 5+ years and I should able to save a project even if I don't have a few premium synths. I'm assuming the workaround is gonna be "just have her render the tracks" but I'm really hoping there's a better, non-destructive solution.
I went to Preferences/Library and "uninstalled" Operator and Analog. I was hoping this would alleviate the problem but no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
