I'm reinstalling my OS and was told to "collect all and save" all my projects.... Where are these files saved?

Collect All and Save will save to the directory you specify. if you run it and don't specify another folder it will save it all in your project folder that contains the .als that you're working with. depending on how you made your track it may do almost nothing. for example, i record audio (guitar, bass, vocals etc.) so that material is original and already in the project folder. a Collect All and Save at this point would do little more than copy the Live library drum samples i used in the song to the project folder.

when i have a reason to use Collect All and Save (such as emailing the file to someone else) i always make a new folder on the desktop and then Collect All and Save to that. the benefit being that it's only the takes i am using in the project so it makes a smaller file - i.e. those first 12 vox tracks that i scrapped are not being emailed along with the one or 2 good ones i actually decided to use.

It's not an "it" first of all :P

Basically it collects all the samples you've used and puts them into the Samples folder within your project folder.. so once you've done the Collect all & Save, just copy your project folder and it will contain any audio you've imported, etc..
