whenever you launch a clip to play in Live's pre-listen ... what goes on in the period when you are waiting for the thing to start playing?

I can shorten the dead-air infront of it, but some clips take up an unaccountable-for period waiting to actually "sound"

is there any way to access this area? to optimize the system for enablement of short wait periods

SORRY BUT i JUST TRIED A CLIP AGAIN sorry

i just tried to launch a clip again, and on one with no lead-to... an immediate start(should-be).. and the time that passed after i clicked and whenever the clip started to play... was long enough to send three messages to Berlin and back with a layover in Atlanta!

Hi Jbo,

what is your global quantization setting? Please keep in mind that when pre-listening an audio file in Live's browser, the pre-listening is started depending on this quantization setting.

regards,
Alex

if its at "OPTIONS"...."PREFERENCES"..."DEFAULT"as the spot

if thats the correct "global location" to set "global" settings.. I recently have been moving that setting from one to the next.. just to see if any work for what i have been trying to accomplish... recording launched clips and browser/prelisten activity..(as you no doubt already noticed)
anyway i thought i did understand that my actions not new audio were what is recorded when using sessionclips..cant seem to get this going
I am just trying to make sure I don't omit any of the many functionalities of Live!! I find myself "accepting the idea I cannot use all of Live's abilities, anyway, but am trying to get away of that thinking by becoming as familiar as possible with what I am most intrigued about and least aware of, at the same time...

I now see what you meant about how they launch & it of course does only make good sense to do it so..

THANKS FOR the response!
