ableton dont recognize apc 40

Hi,
When i plug apc 40 into computer(win xp sp 3,ableton epc edition), in the ableton preference midi he see it as "usb audio device-(akai apc 40)",and in the midi in-out section he see it as "usb audio device" and not
as akai apc 40.
Does somebody knows what could be the reason of it?
