library setup question

Hello. I'm planning on reformatting my hard drive pretty soon, and I have a pretty vast ableton library that I want to make sure gets transferred correctly.

The main question i have is this:
In the library folder, there is a WAVEFORMS folder and a SAMPLES folder among many others. I keep most of my custom sounds in the SAMPLES folder, but I also have a copy of the entire WAVEFORMS folder inside the SAMPLES folder, which I assume is totally unnecessary. Should I delete the copy? Is it best to keep all of your (mostly drum) samples in the SAMPLES folder or WAVEFORMS folder? I assume that if they are in a different location you can just use live to search for the missing samples for each set which shouldn't be a problem if I relocate them.
Thanks for the advice.

In my Ableton Library root folder I don't have a waveforms folder. I have library\samples\waveforms though. Maybe you accidentally copied the waveforms folder outside of the samples folder?

I think your library\waveforms is an extra folder but you could look up which sample files Ableton uses for instrument\kit samples and confirm that it is using the library\samples\waveforms path. Also you could see if there are any files that aren't a copy.

Personally I'd probably copy the whole library folder though if I had the space :P
