Effect presets / instruments missing

I can see factury effect presets when i expand the effect in browser- but it won't let me select or drag into track- on like 70% of em- I can use ant effect , just not Abletons pre-set variations. Did i delete a file- I run 7 but loaded a lite version of 8 on this rig. Started noticing the missing files then
