Live 8, audio outputs 1/2 only

This might be a rather 'green' question. I just found out that a rather pricey plug-in I bought will only side-chain via outputs 3 and 4 on an audio channel, problem is nothing else shows up aside from lines 1 and 2 in my output config dialog.

To give a bit more background I'm running Ableton on W7 x64, don't know if this will have any impact but I'm also using the Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 for external sound.

What I'm trying to figure out first is what governs the presence of additional channels in Ableton? If there's supposed to be more internal bus available by default I'd like to know if anyone has run into this and if they found a way around it?

Route the audio of a channel to the channel that is hosting the plug in. From there, the channel should give you the appropriate options.

Thanks. I just tried it, unfortunately its still only offering 1/2 no matter which sub-menu I pull the configure option from.

Try using that anyway. In the context of the plug in, 1/2 may be the channel itself, and 3/4 would mean additional input. Ableton Live however, may see the '3/4' that the plug in is listening for as 1/2. Does the sidechain have a monitor button??

Its fabfilter Pro C if that helps any. I've seen that they're already getting some mild criticisms on this aspect, everyone loves the product and they're hoping Fab can add an input select just to make things more straightforward.

As for my tests thus far, with the audio output from the sidechain signal source aimed at the receiving channel (to be compressed), nothing happens.
