Hi guys

I am new to music production and I am currently searching for useful information about parts/components of song (drums, percussion, synth etc.)
I would like to read some theory about how do these components work together, what are their functions and so on. Any information would be useful. Thanks in advance!

If you're searching for information the forum is a great place to start.. Don't expect too many people to chime in on questions that have been asked many times over, unless you've already done some footwork yourself..

What is your current understanding of the subjects you mentioned? Being 'new' can mean a lot of things for a lot of different people.

Is google giving you any of the answers you need?

Most music can be broken down into 3 parts.

Beats: Usually rhythmic patterns of non-melodic behaviour.
Bass: Low frequency melodic patterns. Usually matching the rhythmic pattern of the beat.
Melodies: Mid and high frequencies assembled into a melody giving the song a third dimention.

Bass and melody should in most cases have some sort of relationship that includes
similar scales due to the human auditory perception and the laws of physics.

Non the less, all these parts can be mixed and combined.
This can be dangerous from time to time, so be carefull and dont get hurt.

Good luck!

Thank you guys for replying

Well, I know exactly what is a drum kick, hi-hat, clap... I've seen more names for other parts (I am not sure if I could still call them drums but those were mallets, toms etc.)

I tried to google it but what I found was thing like intro, verse, chorus and others which actually I don't need to know since I want to produce techno music.

So I would like to study things like atmosphere and to find out when I need to use it, when not.

Also I want to know important thing about producing techno. Techno is very different from trance because in trance music there is lot of synth lines and in techno not. If I do not misunderstand, techno has more FX sounds which requires more powerful synths than let's say Sylenth1. Techno consists of more complex sounds.

I wonder if I could find any appriopriate theory for techno at all, because I have never heard such things to be published anywhere.

I should also mention that I use number of other synths like Zebra, RP Predator, NI Massive, but I still can't create any more intersting sound than a simple synth, drum kick, hi hat or clap. I just don't know how to use synth's tools in order to create something I would really like. When I listen to techno music I have no idea how particular sounds are made.

I spent quite a lot of time watching tutorials on youtube of how to make some nice sounds for tracks but all I saw was only for dubstep or trance.
