VST Issue

When I try to turn on "Use VST Plug-in Custom Folder" (in preferences) a window pops up showing the the VST, Components, Hal, Mas folders, etc., in the directory. I don't know what to do from there. I've tried just opening the VST folder (I'm attempting to add a VST plug-in, eventually), which closes the directory window but an Ableton prompt appears stating it's a subfolder and Ableton is already using it. I click OK and "Use VST Plug-in Custom Folder" remains "off".

I'm attempting to install my first VST plug-in, TAL Bassline.

I'm running an Intel Mac.

Thanks for your help.

There is no need to create a custom VST folder in this case as you are trying to use the folder that Live is already using as the default.

To cut a long story short, copy your VST file straight into this folder and then either start Live or, if it is already open, click "rescan". your VST should now be available in the browser :-)
