CPU bar isn't loading

When I went onto Ableton Intro today, I noticed it took quite a long time to load my project. Then when I tried to play a clip, it wouldn't play. I then noticed that the CPU bar in the top right is completely blank. I clicked on it and then it would say, "OFF". i clicked again and it would return to the blank bar.
In the preferences It says i have my audio driver all fine and dandy but for some reason the audio and MIDI clips still wont play.

I saw a thread about this already but they just had to update their driver. I believe mine is up to date but not entirely sure. IF that is the issue, can somebody help me update it? I am pretty lost when it comes to that stuff. :?

I have a Macbook early 2009 unibody running OS X Leopard 10.5.8 with Ableton Intro 2.5.6 I've only had it for about 2 months now and this is the first big problem I have had.

Thanks for looking!

You need to check your audio settings; I think you can simply click in the area where you normally find the CPU bar; this should bring you directly into the audio tab in the settings. Make sure your interface is properly set up.
