I am looking at expanding my effect plugins as I have been using all of Live's effects for a while now and thought I would see what else is out there.

I currently have the CamelCrusher, Voxengo SPAN and Flux Stereotool (all freeware).

What would you ppl recommend as some of the must have/highly regarded effect plugins to have?

I use Automat and TAL-Bassline a lot. They are free and really easy to use. I also use TAL's dub delay quite a bit.

If you don't make this question more specific, you're just going to get a list of every available plugin by the time this thread is done. There are hundreds and hundreds, and of vastly different types / kinds / uses. What do you think you lack / need?

One approach considering your broad outlook would be FX bundles, like Uhbik from U-He. Covers a lot of ground.

If you have the dance music manual look into it, there's a list of tried and tested plugins in there, Rick Snoman's advice has been nothing but useful so far. They're a bit outdated but still worth their money imo. With that said, soundtoys plugins are highly regarded. And +1 for fabfilter and waves.

Some of their plugins look pretty great, but I've decided I won't be purchasing anything that requires an ilok. I understand the need to try to protect products from piracy, but I shouldn't have to spend $50 just to use something I've already paid for.. something that could easily break or get lost.. something that takes up one of my usb ports and puts my licenses at the mercy of a company who--from the sounds of it--has a terrible reputation.

audiomidi.com has from time to time really good/stupid deals on plug-ins.

Not looking at getting any instruments as Massive will do me for now, not too sure what exactly im looking for just gonna see what everyone suggests then look into it.
