Hey guys,
Can anybody direct me to some good MIDI instrument packs that I can use with Ableton? The standard ones that come with Ableton 8 are a bit basic. Anybody who produces in the house/electro genre have any favorites that they wanna share?
Thank you so much!!

Isn't the NI Maschine a controller and not a midi pack? I'm confused?

To be honest Maschine is probably the closest to a "MIDI instrument kit" out of anything mentioned here. What do you mean by "MIDI packs"?

I guess whatI mean is (and place keep in mind I'm still a NEWB to this) that I'm looking for new sounds for my midi keyboard to control. I understand the concept that a MIDI keyboard just sends signals and doesn't actually "hold" the sounds.
I guess what I'm saying is that the MIDI instrument "kits" in my DAW are getting a bit boring (i.e.. basic piano keys, nothing too elaborate).
I'm looking for more (what I'm calling "kits" but I'm sure there is another name for them). Some sounds that I can control with my keyboard that are more geared to house music.
Maybe that makes more sense? I hope so.
Any and all input is appreciated.

www.kvraudio.com has links to a lot of VSTs. You could try some free ones.

if you're looking for new plugin instruments and efx, have a look at d16.pl - they have a lot of house related stuff.
you also could have a look at the club of revolution sample cds: very good loops and samples you can open in simpler or in drum racks.

ah, and install the tal stuff! as it's free it's a duty to have:
