The Twinkies seem to have appeared in 1933.
Something tells me that another thing happened to the world that year.
Anyway, you may now make your own:
1 pk White cake mix
1 sm Vanilla instant pudding
1/2 c Oil
3 Eggs
1 c Milk
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Margarine; softened
2 ts Vanilla
4 tb Flour
1 c Sugar
1/2 c Crisco
1 c Water

Oh puleeez
You can get Toblerone - almost any of the varieties - at many stores in the U.S.
USELESS MUSIC EQUIPMENT TRIVIA: The Toblerone package was the inspiration for Ultimate Support's Apex keyboard stand. They even sent a free Toblerone with the first few hundred Apex's shipped (which I was happy to have received!)

More Tobler trivia, if you look really closely at the mountain (which I guess is meant to be the matterhorn), you'll notice a little dancing bear...which is the symbol of Bern (Swiss capital and a great city, if you ever go there in the summer make sure that you float down the Aare with the locals)

Hostess, one of the largest industrial bakeries in the world and the makers of twinkies DID declare bankruptcy, but continue to operate....and make twinkies.
I think Tastee Kake in Philidelphia is better anywho...
No offense, but the american who did not recognize Toblerone must be living in the deep wilderness eating twigs and pinecombs. Toblerone has been available in the states for over 2 decades and is not hard to find.
Funny thread.

hostess is nasty. they put beef fat in their doughnuts. wtf!
TastyKake4Life!
ps the true american nastiness is the deep fried twinkies and deep fried snicker bars that can be had at state and county fairs in the summer.
