Beginner problems.

Hi guys, i'm starting off, and it looks like i didn't take the easy way. Here are my problems :
1. I copied a song on audio1 to sample it. I copied and pasted some parts on audio2. The slot for audio2 is empty in the session view... And i have to solo it to have it played. I haven't figured out how to organize the set lecture...
2. I did a midi drum track that doesn't play when i play the whole three tracks together using the triangle at the top (although i muted audio1 cause it doesn't match my drums). I'd like to play audio2 and the drum track. In fact, i have two takes of drums, two slots. But i have no control on how long they play, when they start and stop, etc. When i press play, the take in the first slot plays forever.
I watched the Hal Leonard Music Pro Guides on Live 8. Very complicated... Any references to some tutorials are welcome.
