vocaloid 2 and ableton

I cannot exchange midi-files between vocaloid 2 (Prima) and ableton 8.2.6
When I try to import a vocaloid midi-file to ableton, there is no sound playing.
Vocaloid doesn`t play midi files created with ableton. I am not sure if I make a mistake or if the programs are incompatible. Does anybody know more about compatibility of these two programs?
