I know, answer #1 would be probably to hire a guitarist to play it.
Until I get his part perfect and scored, however, I'll likely try various chords and phrases with this sound for days. (If not weeks. Ah, the joy of working for myself.) So what's the easiest way to coax this ringing guitar sound out of a keyboard & computer rig to experiment with it?

I got a similar sound using Tension>Grain Delay>Chorus>Amp>Cabinet

Tension, use a guitar preset

Grain delay:
pitch 12.00
frequency ~10hz
dry/wet 70%
time 1.0ms

Probably want to add a little Simple Dlay for extra shimmer

Thank you for trying to help. I think I might be missing some patch parameters, because my Grain Delay sounds like a tremolo after a coffeine overdose
Thinking analytically about the original sound, it seemed a lot like a pimped-up Fender of some sort. I managed to match its organ-like quality quite closely by pulling up two Guitar-Nose Strat's from my Live's library and tuning the quieter second instance up a fifth.

Now if I could only add the metallic "ka-chingg!" somehow to all this, the sound would be right head on.

Hmm, kinda sounds like a 'natural harmonic'/overtone (like the ones you can get on 5th, 7th and 12th fret)?

Sound like Ring Modulation>Chorus>Amp>Cabinet>Reverb to me...

It sounds very similar to when you've got a Digitech whammy going an octave above whatever you're playing

You could also make two version of the audio you're using and pitch one up an octave in Beats mode for a similar ringiness

It's definitely from a pitch-shifter, either from lower end hardware or most vst plugins. The more challenging part for you is the guitar, so yeah, Tension would seem the closest and easiest availability, but if you understand synthesis you can at least get the principle of the sound.

The grain delay should give you the same results for the pitch shifting sound (and have at >70% Wet), there must be some parameter that's off if you're always getting tremolo.

Add a long reverb after the grain delay, then throw a flanger or chorus after that....

If you're not sure about the synthesis part, start with a Saw wave pitched up 12 or 24 semitones (lower or raise the PM if it's around), lower the amp decay to about 20%, same with Sustain (0-15%) and a longer release time like around 75% or >1.5 sec

But yeah, guitar would be best. The rest could be done pretty faithfully with Live's stock effects.

For the pitch-shifter sound:

download: EnoShimmer-steko.adg

- create a new return-channel - right-click its own send & activate (feedback to itself) - set send level to 1 o'clock (caution if higher!)

- drag EnoShimmer-steko.adg onto the return-channel

- set send level from guitar/Tension/etc-track to return-channel to 1 o'clock

- play with reverb's quality modes, predelay, diffuse setting, decay time, high cut etc …

Getting a guitar right is really hard. You not only have the sound of the instrument but also having to play with that delayed pick for each string when you strum. Check out the tools by Applied Acoustics...they get fairly close:

It's two tracks of Live (Guitar-Nose Strat), assisted by a Yamaha and a Korg. I'm getting close, though the sound still lacks that metallic "something" the original had. Maybe because I didn't find any Live Audio Effect called Ring Mod, only a Ring under Frequency Shifter.
