Latency when jumping to locators when using video

When using live to show video (along with sound) I have experienced quite heavy latency when jumping between locators (midi-triggered). I know Live isn't specifically build to show video, but it just fits perfectly to my purpose (jumping from one point to another and in and out of loops, etc.) - except for this latency, that grows with the size of the screen and tops with full screen. If anybody has a trick to minimize this kind of latency I would appreciate a lot!!

The set uses almost no effects, it mainly just plays back audio, and the video is very light. I run the set from a macbook pro with the newest version of Live (from the Suite).

Thanks for any advice and gained millisecond!

Simon

Simon have a go with our JAM2.5 application, it is specifically built to playback videos within ableton lives session view.

Checkout the quickstart guide at http://vimeo.com/30829058
Then download free from our 'free download section' at http://www.facebook.com/justaddmusicmedia

Best of luck and please leave us some feedback/feature requests

hi itsthejayj, thanks so much for the tip! i have watched the video - what a great solution, brilliant!

i have downloaded the 2.56 beta - but it needs a key, right? is there any way to get 2,5 without fb-spamming? (and even if i did, i'm sure i wouldn't get 177 likes ...)

thanks again - looking forward to trying it!

all the very best,
s
