follow action: "predecessor"

This is my first post, so I hope it is a good one 
Hi to all !
Example:
In the first part of my song in scene 1 I want pattern 1 to repeat infinitely.
In the next part of my song in scene 2 I want patterns 1 and 2 to alternate.
When I use the follow actions "previous" and "next" patterns 1 and 2 will alternate also when pattern 1 is activated the first time.
With the follow action "predecessor" the pattern should go back to the pattern that was triggered before:
So when I first launch pattern 1 the follow action would also trigger pattern 1 because there was no other pattern launched before.
When I launch pattern 2, it would then be alternating between patterns 1 and 2 because pattern 1 was triggered at last before I launched pattern 2.
And if I want to launch pattern 2 but without alternating between 1 and 2, I would only have to hit the pattern 2 launch button twice, so the pattern that was triggered before was also pattern 2.
