Master level absolutely EXPLODING + cutting out.

Hey y'all. My brain hurts- lettme pick yr's.
I got a set I played out on Friday night. Last about a half hour, weighs about 500MB with all the samples collected. It was a smashing success on Friday, for the most part, and I got home Saturday morning, interested in making a hard copy. So after another half hour routine flex in my room, I had everything I wanted in arrangement view. I find that getting to sit down and listen to it is imperative for studying, rather than just twisting it around while playing. So far, so good, sounds smooth, I'm quite enjoying it.
Right, but then-
every 5 minutes or so I get this exploding feedback and the audio just cuts. I'm still looking at the channel meters jump green like nothing happened but the master channel has no signal whatsoever. I can then stop, open another set and the sound is perfectly fine. I later played with an old DJ set I drew up for about an hour, waiting for the same reaction, to no avail. I've cornered this issue to the new set. Absolutely no idea what's going on here. I'm not loaded up plugs; my 2ghz 2gb ram macbook is giving me a 25-40 CPU usage the whole time. I've got a single effect rack on each channel, including the master- nothing fancy, a few filters, some beat repeats, yknow- and the master has, after that default effect rack, a utility > limiter > utility. I do this for having a limiter on just in case but to minimize as much as possible squashing and just to smooth out those big peaks that I can't do much about (owing to poorly recorded samples.) I should also note that I'm in the green for all my levels 95 percent of the time. The only time I even touch a clipping level is at the very end, which I never can get to while playing back (and as of just this moment, playing it in real time) because my shit detonates before I even get a quarter of the way there. My level peak meter tells me nothing that would help, i.e. nothing is marked at 20+ dB after the sound explodes, therefore leaving me no clue as to what exactly could be setting it off. Also worth mentioning would be that this happens with both my interface and internal sound card.
This is a completely new problem that I've never experienced in 4 years with Live. It's quite worrisome because I have another set this Friday + Saturday and I'm not looking forward to the bumbling around in front of an already suspicious audience. Has anyone an idea or insight to shed here?
