Close to Bankruptcy ??
This L9 thing needs longer than can be good for them. That they started to sell loop construction kit stuff shows that even the litle bribe mioney involved in such deals is needed badly.
I also have heard rumours that they finaly realized some hefty audioengine bugs and have to rewrite the allready rewritten L9 again.. thats bad..
However . the allmighty daw is anyway a dated concept. The future is computer generated music..that leaves enough time to look good on stage or even play a real instrument along ... much better than watching a guy doing his emails on stage.

Nope, no conspiracy here.
Perfectly in line with around Q2 release in 2012. These sales are a way to continually get people to purchase Live 8 while we wait for Live 9. Not many people are willing to pay full price when they could wait 6 or so months and get the new product. But if they give you a discount whereas with the upgrade to Live 9 you pay about the same as you would if you purchased Live 9 when it is released, than why not? If I did not own Live 8, I would be down for sure.

It indeed indicates that Live9 will get the price droped. It's general way to avoid customer complains the unfair sudden price drop.

Uh oh, decision time! Still on Live 7 here (non-Suite version), but that upgrade price to v8 Suite is just way too tempting!
So...buy this now, wait until January 14th (in the event v9 goes into beta and can get it for Free when you purchase v8)...or just pony up for Live 9 when it comes out?
As luck will normally have it, Live 9 will probably be released the day after the Sale on January 16th. I've never been one to NEED the latest greatest once it's released and going by how v8 has panned out, I'm sure alot of folks will watch the game on the sidelines and see how things pan out. I'm sure v9 will be a world better though given they admitted they messed up and taking their time on v9. At least they seem to be releasing what seems to be weekly updates for v8.....so I'm very happy to see that.
I was never really wanting all the native instruments, but that upgrade price is a no-brainer to Suite considering it will cost over $1,100 for all those instruments separately!
I may have just answered my own question there. =D

I believe the 25% savings will offset the upgrade price to 9 so in the end, you get to use a stable Live 8 product for 6 for so months and then upgrade to 9. In the end, I believe you would be very close as far as money spent goes if you choose this option but with the added benefit of using Live 8 for the time.
I would do it. It makes sense.

I was struggling to justify buying sampler for a long time, and last Saturday I decided to watch a bunch of Sampler videos on YT and Vimeo to persuade myself into buying. Then I spent a few hours by trial and came up with stuff I would not have been able to hack together natively so by Sunday I caved. I even noticed during the weekend on AudioMidi they anounced a 25% sale, yet I didn't see Sampler OR upgrade from Live 8 (normal) to Suite. So now, instead of asking for the discount amount back, I'd rather pay the remaining amount to upgrade to Suite. From reading a few similar cases in the past, it seems in their coolness to not reject the request...

Obviously a thinly veiled attempt to spread the use of Sample packs and destroy Tech House music once and for all!
Speaking of loop packs...I'm proud to announce the upcoming sample pack - "Washed Up Berlin...a tribute to the crazy guy that thought he was a Techno superstar."
Inspired by some guy's smash hit that I can't remember the name of because it's in German.
12.5 gigs of four on the floor 909 loops in tempos from 120 to 121bpm and 8000 filter variations on a single 303 loop.
I hope to capture the special flavor of a Berlin leather bar on August 14, 1993.
I wasn't there, but I heard it was a good day.
Anyway, if you are a talentless 15 year old hack with horrible taste in 20 year old music, this is the loop pack for you.
