Click Track with many changing key signatures

Dear All,

I have a piece of classical music that I need to learn. It has a lot of changing time signatures, sometimes every bar. 4/4 through 7/16, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for programming this? Should I just right click on the timeline in arrangement view?

I recently discovered that you can name your scenes by tempo marking "120 bpm 4/4", but I can't figure out how to make each scene go to the next, after a specified number of bars. This would be ideal, so I can just bang out the changes in a 'spreadsheet' format.

Any suggestions?

I already manually created a click in audacity, via cut-n-paste, many years ago, (before I had live), so I'm hoping to skip the insane drudgery again.

Thank you!

Fitz

To make a scene go to the next, you have to make a setting in each clip in the scene. in the "launch" area of the clip inspector, there is a setting for a follow action, and that should be set to 'next' for each clip. You will have to set the signature for each clip to the appropriate value (also in the clip inspector). The clip tempo isn't inherited from the scene signature. I've done this before with songs very many tempo changes and it's a bit of a pain but it works fine once you get each clip's tempo and follow action set right.

Ah, thanks Luddy.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but here's a write up regarding tempo time sig dictated by the scene names:

It appears that if you manually trigger the scenes, it will work, but I can't get it to apply, using the clips follow action.

I'll probably just use the arrangement view, to keep my measure numbers straight. But thanks for the info - something new to learn every day!

Here's a thread I now was able to find ("follow action" being they key phrase).

It has some solutions including midi note scene triggers.
