looping question: how to automatically punch out?

Hi there

I'm very new to live! Just bought an APC40 and am running a custom electric kit through it (using superior 2.0) as well as lots of other acoustic / electric instruments.

I'm sorry if this has been covered before but it's doing my head in, if anyone has a solution id love to hear it.

Basically I want to be able to record 4-bar clips that loop. I've made a set that has the loop brace covering the first four bars in the arrangement, have activated the loop switch and the punch in and punch out buttons. Cueing in is no problem, I just want to know is there a way I can tell live to automatically stop recording and switch to play mode at the end of these four bars? Reaching over to the APC to stop the clip holding drumsticks means there's always half an empty beat if i get it in time, or even worse an added empty bar throwing the loop out of sync.

Or do i need to invest in a midi foot pedal and assign it to that?

Thanks in advance guys
Scott.

that's an idea actually, would it be advisable to set each input track up with a looper?
