editing MIDI velocity on external synthesizers

Hey all, I have a question regarding velocity perameters when I am controlling an external synth in ableton. I use reason as a slave along with my microkorg, and as far as normal note data I have no problems. But I cannot seem to figure out how to get my external synths to respond to velocity perameters that I create within ableton. I understand how to use velocity within reasons arrangement, but is there no way to send/receive this information overrewire? I hate that blocky synth sound! : /
Cheers and thanks in advanced

All of your MIDI notes that you are sending are paired with velocity information, it's part of the MIDI spec. These are, as I'm sure you already know, represented by the vertical bars at the bottom of Live's MIDI editor.
Whether your synth that is receiving this information cares at all is up to it. Not all synths respond to velocity. I know several of the Microkorg patches don't, for example. One of the configurable parameters (I forget which) controls what effect velocity data has on the patch.
If possible, check to make sure that the MIDI data coming out of your track has the velocity data set how you expect. MIDI plugins can modify it, if you have any of those in the track.
