Info on stretching/warping vocals

Hi all,

I'm new to trance production. I'm looking for info on how to learn about stretching/warping vocal samples for psytrance. I don't really mean for bpm matching persay, so I'm not sure if the warping engine is what I'm looking for here.

I'm looking to elongate and warp vocals, not necessarily "vocode" them, and I'm not sure the best route.

Any input is most appreciated on where I might start, or some good tutorials.

Try a vocoder just using noise as the carrier and keep it fairly dry, add some simple delay with a little feedback, again not too wet, whack it through a nice reverb and EQ to taste. If you want to actually elongate the sound, warp it (complex pro), then just stretch it.

You can disable the beatgrid, and stretch vocals around as you please using warp markers. I think Live's warping tools ought to work for you, although I've never heavily used them for anything besides tempo correction.

The easiest way to find out if it'll work for you is to try it - there's a demo if you don't own a copy of Live.
