iPad, TouchOSC for Live control, worth it ??

I am assuming lots of people here use iPads and TouchOSC. Unfortunately, i have not gotten many responses for topics i have posted on other forums regarding TouchOSC. I hope someone here can sort me out.......

I bought TouchOSC to test out on an iPad which i can borrow for a few days b4 deciding whether to buy it or not.
I have confusions:

1. How reliable/stable is TouchOSC.
2. Is performance better using CoreMidi and wired MIDI connection using iRig Midi, or AdHoc networked WIFI ?
3. Do i still need this app called Osculater ? Seems many cool templates for Live and Traktor require OSCulater instead of CoreMidi. I think the TouchOSC Logic template still relies on Osculater....

I am coming from hardware faders and knobs but am intrigued by the flexibility and versatility offered, only if its reliable and adds to workflow/performance. Stability is my main concern.

Any experience, thoughts, opinions are most welcome, please advice.

Thanks!

Faisal

I can't speak for the CoreMIDI compatibility, and I would love to let go of OSCulator myself. It's kind of a mess.

BUT, I have DJed a couple of long sets with TouchOSC, OSCulator and Traktor over AdHoc, for cue points and FX. Not once did my connection break. Unless you're looking for insta-response requiring devices like a wired MIDI drum machine, the latency is very low over AdHoc.
