Getting back on the grid

Ok so a client of mine recorded a beautiful piano rendition of swan lake "off the grid"... he recorded live with no click and no quantizing with ableton's master tempo @ 120 BPM which is his default BPM when he loads up Ableton.
Now he wants to put the grid at 84BPM and "quantize" parts of it ...
is that even POSSIBLE!!!!???????
I've tried all sorts of things ... I brought the Master Tempo down to 84 and changed the "orig BPM" in the midi clip to 84 which makes it all play as it used to up at 120 however ... when you change the "orig BPM" the midi notes move but the foot pedal CC info does NOT!!!!
if anyone has had experience with this ANY suggestions would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!!!
