Ableton and FL Studio as VST

Hi,
I am new to Ableton, after having been sucessfully converted by a die-hard LIVE fan...
I have been using FL10 for a while now (actually been using FL since V3) so I am pretty useful in this program but I really am starting to get the hang of Live now and would like to use the 2 programs together, my question is with regards to using FL as a VST within Ableton;
I have tried the "Multi VST" plugin, which according to FL can send more than 1 track to Ableton, How does this work exactly?
I tried messing around with it and also tried various forums and sites etc but cannot seem to get the answer I need..
This is what I need it to do, can somebody please tell me if this is possible and if so, how do I set it up;
I would like to be able to take a song I have been working on in FL and send it, track for track, to individual tracks within Ableton so that I can carry on working with it with my Ableton clips and then put them all together in one session in Ableton, save it as one song and master from there. Is this possible? How?
What I have tried thus far is not working, I realise it is most probably the wrong way but this is what I have been trying;
I start by opening the "multi VST" in an open track in Ableton, then clicking the Fruit on the plugin to open FL (up until this step everything seems to be working) now, if I add a fresh pattern or instrument etc in FL, it plays in Ableton perfectly, if I load a previous file or song I have been busy with, it doesnt play. What am I doing wrong? How do I send each track to individual tracks in Ableton?
I am also experiencing the following problem; once I have sent a particular pattern or track to Ableton, I am unable to open FL again unless I open a new VST in a new Ableton track, If I click on the fruit of the plugin (first one loaded) it does nothing, I therefore cannot get back into the FL track or song I am trying to access through Ableton, I need to load a fresh VST and start from scratch in FL.. Why does it do this? am I able to do what I want to do at all?
Please could someone help by giving me a full detailed step by step on how to hook 16 sep tracks in FL to 16 tracks in Ableton as this is what the 'Multi VST" implies it can do.
Hope Ive made myself clear and that someone is willing and able to help me.
