Cutting Loops and Samples

Hi,

I have been trying to take some samples from other tunes and loop them into my Ableton projects but the way I am going a bout it seems very difficult and not always with great results.

I have been using Wavelab to try and cut a loop but I have been struggling to cut the loop so it starts exactly as it should and also trying to make it the exact length is difficult.

Any thoughts? I see some people do this in arrangement view but I don't find this easy either.

Any tips much appreciated.

Thanks

mike

I like to put it in Arrangement view, then warp the relevant part of the clip, then use the (now-aligned) gridlines in arrangement view to cut out the part I want.

i prefer session view for sample work

i set warp markers a the very beginning of bits i like, then 'slice to new midi track', being sure the slice value is set to 'warp marker'...then go to town building a sample line that fits/works...
