I just started playing around with the software to familiarize myself but having somewhat a difficult time with controls, I was wondering if there was anyway to arrange keyboard shortcuts manually so they control what I want them to do not what it has in the Manual

Pretty much rearrange them so they fit my needs.

The reason being is I'm paralyzed from the neck down and it makes it easier to specify my own shortcuts as opposed to the ones that are preinstalled in the application.

The only way I can see this being possible is thru a outside program that re-programs the buttons you need to use instead of what's already been programmed by Ableton, I'm assuming MAX for Live or something similar to the software that this controller uses in this video.

You can use of course the KEY button(CTRL + K, CMD + K) in the top right corner of the Ableton screen to customize anything it enables orange. This however only solves some of your problems. For instance. The shortcut going to between the arrange and Audio Effects window, requires the use of ALT plus the Arrow keys. same with between Vertical to Horizontal Timeline with the TAB button. There's no way to reprogram TAB or ALT, in these situations.

I hate to say this but you might wanna look into Cubase. You can customize EVERY action in Cubase to any number of keys or midi devices you could need. Again it depends on exactly what your looking to do re production. Slightly frustrating to say the least!!

Glovepie is another program you can use. You write your own instructions to tell it something like "Up = +" So if you pressed the up key it the computer would think you're pressing the Plus key, for example.

It also supports devices besides keyboards like joysticks and a headset device that can be useful for applications involving limited movement.
