MPD32 Wrong Midi Notes with Drum Racks

Hello,
I just got an MPD32 to replace my MPC using drum racks in Ableton.
I set up a preset on the MPD32 where the Pads A1 to D16 send out midi numbers 39 to 99 (C1 to D#6)
Problem is: when you have the MPD32 set as control surface for ableton and try to use a drum rack you get the following note errors:
Pad - MidiNote - Note and response
B9 - 60 - C3 plays C2
B11 - 62 - D3 plays C#2
B13 - 64 - E3 plays D3
B14 - 65 - F3 plays D#3
B16 - 67 - G3 plays E3
C2 - 69 - A3 plays F3
C4 - 71 - B3 plays F#3
C5 - 72 - C4 plays G3
you can stop this from happening by going to preferences and changing the mpd's input setting to none.
this allows you to play the drum racks chromatically but you can no longer control the transport without midi assigning it first.
this is not a problem with anything but drum racks and changing the midi channel of the pads seems to not help either
can anyone shed some light onto this for me? its quite a let down after getting an apc40 before this...
thanks!
