ASIO sample rate question

How much does the sample rate you set your ASIO to affect the the quality of the audio? If I have it at 128 samples some of the time, 512 other times, etc., does it make any difference.. or is the sample rate I select in my preferences (and export) the only thing I need to be concerned about?

the value you set for asio is the buffersize, it only affects audiolatency, not audioquality.
Samplerate is set in preferences.

but its true that the asio buffer settings can effect the sound as the cpu is taxed on a lower setting... imo you want to run as low a buffer number as you can when recording external audio of midi (128ish), but when working a normal session you can put it way up (for me its 1056, or just all the way right)
