Lost the S4 controller after hours of set-up! Help

Took me forever to get Traktor S4 working with Live as a controller... Finally worked out how to do it and now... well today i switched it on again an the friggin thing is lost. It's there, but in the input and output fields it's in orange text, as if the S4 isn't even plugged in.
And there's nothing under midi ports, track, sync or remote...
Any ideas? I'm close to just taking the S4 outside and p*ssing on it.

if you got nothing to say, say nothing.
obviously i tried it again. it's not working. the S4 shows in my list of controllers but the input and output doesn't show. nothing under midi port, track, sync or remote. i'm running an alesis q25 and that shows no problem...
my mac s receiving the S4's input cause if i open traktor, the s4 works, no issues.

Have you tried deleting your Live preferences file?

Try reinstalling the S4 drivers, and make sure you're using the latest ones via NI's Service Center app.
