Hey guys, I was wondering how to place different effects on the same channel,such as placing a compressor on one part of a sample then a different effect (such as distortion or something) on the same sample, but at a later time without the two effects interfering. (does this have something to do with 'arrangement view'?)

Currently I'm working in Session view on Ableton Live Lite 8.2.2

Don't worry about arrangement view, what you're going to want to be working with is racks and effect chains. You need to put a number of effects into an audio effect rack after your instrument, and then dial them in when you want them to occur. Basically, you're going to want to do a lot of research around how to build up instrument/effect racks, because I can try to explain it, but it probably will just confuse you.

you have to put a couple effects in an audio effect rack, and set the chain selector up to switch between them, make sure you set up those fades too, so you can dial the effects in without abrupt jumps. hope this helps.
