Hi there.
Here is what I want to do: I want my master out to go to my sound card's 1/2 as well as my 3/4, the exact same signal on both stereo outputs (the point is that my sound card can mix the inputs with the output on the 1/2 out for monitoring, so i'll have 3/4 for the public and 1/2 just for the stage, mixed with the direct input from my microphone, guitar, whatever (and I can mix it on the fly, in case the sound guy is too drunk, you know…)).

I know I can do this with send tracks one for each stereo output, but since I have some complicated sends configuration, I would be more comfortable to not alter everything.

So now I use some "External Effects plugin" right on the master track, one with audio to 1/2, Dry/wet to 0%, another one with audio to 3/4, Dry/wet to 0% as well and a third one with audio to no output, Dry/wet to 100%, so live's master is mute.

So I have exactly what I want, but since I'm changing all my live config and I'm a bit paranoid, does anyone see a reason not to do it like this? Or a better solution?

I don't see why not.
All those effect plugins might take up more CPU due to their inputs though maybe?

Two simpler alternatives

1. put just one external effect plugin on there, for the auxiliary out. if you turn dry/wet to 0% does it still send 100% of the signal out? sorted then - you've got both signals as desired. If not, then turn it to 100% and use a rack with a 2nd channel to add a bypass.

2. or. ditch the external effect plugin and add an extra audio track. set "from" to "master" and "to" to "external out" "(3/4 or whatever)". And monitor to "in". Also works fine.

Aaaah, your option number 2 is totally perfect, and way more simple.
So simple that I didn't think about it, thanks!
