VST force purge help

I tried installing a VST pack from Native Instruments and everything seemed to be working just fine but since it was a bootleg copy of the program (i know... i know, i just wanted to see if i would like it before i bought it)
but i decided i didnt want it and so i started to delete it from my system but now every time i start up Live, it does the "Scanning 'Local' for VSTs" thing on startup and continually says it cant find any of the libraries for the 6 or so VSTs and then makes me have to force quit.
Thing is I removed all the install files and anything with the names of the files, that were added. made sure my custom VST file was empty and the default VST file was empty as well. But every time on startup it tells me it cant find the libraries. So I cancel to basically skip over that and make it inactive, but my VST list still holds all those VSTs AND lets me use them.
So I tried to do my preferences and force a rescan of my VST folder but it freezes out saying it cant find the library again. Obviously cuz I deleted it.
Then i go thru again and find that in my default VST spot there is a folder that magically appeared called Native Instruments with empty folders for the VSTs in question.
so there is obviously some hidden information being retained by Live making it think there is still VST info around.
The help I need is that I want to tell Live that that stuff isnt there and for it to not even think to look. Any ideas?
I tried reinstalling Live, didnt change much. I tried reinstalling the VST packs and having it read again so that maybe ill just leave it and not use them, that didnt do anything, it still says it cant find this "tonewheel" library but i see the thing right there so its obviously not looking in the right spot.
right now i have F-ed this up so bad i pretty much cant use Live.
