Where can I find drums/percussion for house/trance/prog?

Everywhere I look it's loop here loop there. Loop loop loop. What if I want to make my own next level beats, instead of preassembled songs :x

Know anywhere good? I don't need sampled basslines or 800 different loops, ready to throw into every existing DAW :x

And please bid in if you know free sample hits, preferably in sizes bigger and more organized than 10 MB packages.

Thanks, and merry Christmas :x

Just go to the Loopmaster website. They have loads of sample packs with just single drum hits, for all genres of dance music. Failing that, Vengeance is always a good bet, although pretty pricey.

@ Loopmasters, the single hits are almost always bundled in with what you're mostly paying for is loops. There are a few one shot selections there, but they are far & few between.

Yeah, I was thinking the same.

It's just not the same, and it's a bigger file, and I'm lazy, and I hate doing too much when I'm lazy.

So yeah, I guess I could.

But then again, I couldn't :x

Soundstosample.com has sample packs of drums

You can learn to program your own drums using Operator at macprovideo.com

Or, as has been mentioned, you can cut up your own drums. I believe this is one of the best ways to get quality drums. They're already processed.

Or, you could see if drivenmachinedrums has any drums left. They're usually only available for a certain amount of time. That's what's up.

I would seriously recommend splicing up loops and using the single hits that you get out of them, or heading to freesound.org and grabbing some of the sample their users have uploaded to there. Or grabbing a mic and recording some sounds you can make by banging things together and getting your samples that Way. At least you have no copyright infringement when you record your own. I am always terrified when using samples that have been made by other people, that I will get "caught out" when using other people loops or samples. I use a lot of sample packs when writing a tune, but when I hear samples that I recognise from a sample pack, it kind of ruins the track for me. As though, "oh, you didn't reallllly make the full thing yourself", so I am a bit hypocritical in that sense, but meh, we do what we can to make Good songs.

Using other peoples samples or hits has become a huge worry to me when Working on a track, but this is the world we live in... sue this, sue that

Most of these packs have a pretty good size/quality of one-shots. Read the info on the packs for more info.

http://www.vengeance-sound.com

Just got turned onto these peeps also. I like the quality and they have a shit ton of packs, even packs that are just snares, claps etc...
