OSX Lion keeps asking for system password

Whether it's Live, Spotify or Safari, I keep getting asked for the system password every five to ten minutes. It's a nuisance alright. What can be done?

Disk Utility -> repair permissions

Also, the free utility OnyX has a lot of cleaning/repairing options that might sort something out. Perfectly save. Been using for years.

May or may not work. Worth a try. I've never had this issue with Lion.

Are you using Novation Automap, by any chance? If so, you may need to update to version 4.2. Look at the release notes: It fixes a bug that caused Automap to ask for the system password on launch.

Nope.

It's something to do with keychains and what level they're stored, I think.
